Cardamom Rice Pilaf

I don’t have much to say about this week’s French Fridays with Dorie recipe, Cardamom Rice Pilaf.  It was delicious, the flavor was unique, the rice was cooked perfectly, and my whole family loved it.  But still, it’s just rice pilaf with the addition of bruised cardamom seeds and lemon zest.

I served the rice with Curried Chicken, Peppers, and Peas en Papillote, also from Around My French Table (I’ve been dying to try this recipe and making the rice gave me the perfect excuse).  The flavors of the two dishes went really well together.

If you are looking for a rice pilaf with a unique flavor, give this one a try!  I can’t wait to see what the other Doristas served with their Cardamom Rice Pilaf.

  1. I have seen a lot of great AMFT recipes popping up with today’s pilaf. Now I want to make the curried chicken ‘ahead of schedule’. The complete meal looks beautiful and light.

    That is a wonderful combination, curried chicken and rice pilaf. Your
    photos are really good. Tricia made her dish earlier in the week and
    they all thought it was terrific so I decided to give it a try. A simple
    dish that turned out to be quite tasty. Hubby and I both enjoyed it.

  3. It does seem like this rice was the perfect side for a lot of AMFT dishes. I served mine up with roasted chicken for lazy people!

  4. The rice and the curried chicken and peas look wonderful! I really need to do a few of the recipes from the book outside of FFwD. So far I have only done that ones from our group. Your wooden spoon is so pretty!

  10. What a great, vibrant photo! That looks really good! The rice was pretty simple but the kids seemed to love it. Can’t wait till the Curried Chicken recipe comes up!
